Posted at: 7/2/2026, 3:46:54 PM - R to @NatlParkService: Summer is here, which means increasingly high temperatures and humidity. While the heat may allow for more time outdoors, it can also increase your risk for dehydration and related illnesses. 🥤No matter what type of park you’re visiting, stay hydrated and drink before you feel thirsty. 🥤The amount of water you need may increase if you are doing a strenuous activity. 🥤Bring enough water to drink with you for the duration of your trip. 🥤When in a park, make sure to locate areas where you can access drinking water.

Posted at: 6/30/2026, 6:51:55 PM - R to @NatlParkService: This is your friendly reminder that the sun is not playing around. Summer temperatures will be hot across much of the country leading into and through the July 4th weekend. As always, we encourage everyone heading outdoors to stay hydrated, take breaks in the shade, wear a hat and sunscreen, sploot responsibly, know your limits, and look out for one another.

Posted at: 6/30/2026, 6:51:55 PM - It's Monday. May the otters ever be in your favor!
Posted at: 6/29/2026, 12:48:00 PM - R to @NatlParkService: Otters? Take a page out of the otter playbook to survive the work week. First, stay hydrated and always have a snack on hand. Otters eat up to 15% of their body weight each day. Same. Fuel yourself, stay energized, and tackle all your tasks with gusto! Communication is key. Make your emails meaningful, to the point, and with only a hint of passive-aggressiveness. Otters communicate with over 20 different sounds, and they know exactly when to avoid the scary tones of an incoming Teams call. Take deep breaths and enjoy moments of calm. Fun fact: river otters can hold their breath for up to 8 minutes. Maybe don’t try that at your desk…unless someone is heating up leftover fish in the break room across the hall. Most important of all, keep a ‘paws’itive attitude! (Because tomorrow is only Tuesday.)
Posted at: 6/29/2026, 12:48:00 PM - RT by @NatlParkService: Exciting news! The Lincoln Memorial Undercroft is now open to the public. The almost three-year project created 15,000 square feet of exhibit space to tell a more complete story of the Lincoln Memorial's construction and legacy, as well as give visitors a chance to see the memorial’s foundations. The renovations also included new restrooms, enhanced security, a larger bookstore, and a refurbished elevator to the chamber.
